Blasting
A calculated blast for the fragmentation you need — with vibration and fly-rock kept under control.
Blast design
A controlled blast is designed, not improvised. Working from the drilling pattern, we set the charge weight per hole, the stemming, and the initiation timing so the rock breaks to the size the operation needs while ground vibration and fly-rock stay within safe limits. Burden, spacing and powder factor are matched to the geology — the same explosive load behaves very differently in soft, jointed rock than in hard, massive ground.
Timing and initiation
- Non-electric and electronic initiation for accurate, sequenced firing
- Delay timing modelled so holes fire in a controlled order rather than together
- Charge-per-delay limited to keep peak vibration down
Timing is the single biggest lever over both fragmentation and vibration. By releasing energy in small, spread-out steps instead of one large pulse, we get better breakage and a much lower seismic signature. See blast design basics and controlled blasting for more.
Vibration and fly-rock control
Near structures, roads or occupied ground, the charge per delay is reduced, contour techniques are used, and vibration is monitored on site against a safe threshold. This is what makes blasting near structures possible without damage.
Licensing and explosives handling
Blasting is state-regulated. SKT is licensed to transport, store, produce and sell explosive materials, and works to national safety rules on every site. Read more on licensing of blasting works in Uzbekistan and safe handling of explosives.
Where it is used
Controlled blasting runs across quarries, open-pit and underground mines, road cuts, tunnels and hydraulic structures.
